The Bulls gave Beef Meadow another afternoon to remember as they stormed past North Walsham’s Warriors in their second game of the season. The sun was shining at kick-off and the home crowd turned out in force, though the rumbling storm on the horizon meant the match had to be called off a few minutes early.
Beccles wasted no time in getting the scoreboard moving. Olly Carr, one of the club’s newest recruits and still fresh to rugby, powered his way through for the opening try. Jack Sisley added the kick, and the Bulls were up and running.

From there, Sam Day crossed for another, before the visitors hit back with a converted try of their own. But the Bulls held their own with Harry Whiting, who was everywhere on the pitch all afternoon, scored the first of his two tries, Jack converting. Jack then helped himself to a try and conversion, before Ed Copsey and Bailey Swanston combined for another seven points. Harry grabbed his second before halftime, and Bailey slotted the kick, giving Beccles a healthy 42–14 lead at half-time.

The second half saw more of the same. James Knights, Sam Day (with his second), Seb Smith and Riley Mutimer all dotted down with trys, with Bailey’s boot adding plenty of conversion along the way. Riley’s late score rounded off the action at 70–14, just before the thunder and lightning forced the referee to blow early.

Man of the Match: Harry Whiting
A special moment came for Archie Thomas, who has just stepped up from Colts into the senior squad. Archie made his senior debut and was proudly presented with his Beccles RUFC tie after the match. In true Bulls fashion, he was then encouraged to join Harry and Riley in the traditional pint-downing initiation — cheered on loudly by teammates and supporters alike.
