To all players, supporters, and followers of Beccles Rugby Club,
Over recent weeks, the club has experienced significant challenges with player availability. This situation ultimately led to the Second XV withdrawing from their league, despite the tireless efforts of the senior management team to improve matters.
The commitment and dedication shown by those players who have remained available and continued to train is something of which the entire Beccles Rugby Club community should be extremely proud.
Unfortunately, due to an ongoing shortage of fit players, we have been left with no option but to concede this Saturday’s First XV fixture against Lowestoft & Yarmouth.
While this may prove to be a temporary setback, as Chairman I feel it is my responsibility to formally review the current situation and identify any areas where we can better support the club in fulfilling its fixtures.
Our priority is to ensure that our players, and others across the region, are able to enjoy as many competitive games as possible.
As a club, it is important that we remain positive, united, and focused on moving forward together. Further details regarding the review will be shared in due course.
In the meantime, please feel free to contact either myself or Martin Sisley directly with any
comments or observations.
As this is largely a numbers issue, if you are able to pull on a pair of boots and make yourself available for selection, please let KJ, Seb Morton, or Stuart Adams know as soon as possible.
We remain committed to making the most of the remainder of the season.
Thank you all for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Michael Penney
Chairman, Beccles Rugby Club
