Straight into the next battle with Cruise who started very brightly, far fewer penalties in this game which was nip and tuck until they broke the deadlock with a converted try. Beccles came straight back at them and Riley scored again to end the half all square.

Crusaders struck first again in the second half, but missed a difficult conversion opportunity.

Riley, with his third try of the day got Beccles back in front, which was closely followed by Jake Harker’s, try of the day, a galloping 60 yard run in off the wing, even though he was playing in the second row, finished with aplomb and a graceful swan-dive. The last word was a powerful forward move and Ben Adams muscling over the line to end what was a great afternoon.
