Beccles were straight out of the traps after kicking off and had West pinned in their own half, for most of the opening period. Massive effort being made in defence by West and forcing a lot of penalties to drive Beccles back.
Although West had battled hard, the Beccles forwards set us up great field position, that led to some very nice, clearly practiced, back work, with Riley Mutimer running a great line in from Full back for the opening try; which was converted by the impeccable boot of Jack Sisley, who ended the day with a 100% conversion rate and never missed touch.
The second half was much of the same, Beccles gave far fewer penalties away this half. Persistent forward pressure led to our second score with West conceding a penalty try after phase after phase of hammer forward play. Jack Carthew added the third from centre, after some more silky skills from Jack Sisley releasing him under the posts. The final score of the match, was the last move of the game and another Penalty try but player of the day, Harry Whiting would have scored anyway had he not been high tackled. The whole pack were awesome throughout the match.
