The Bulls came so close to a famous victory here today,but for two purple patches by Wymondham,one in each half,Beccles would by through to the next round.

The final score reflects the type of game it was today,good power running by both teams creating plenty of chances for each team.Wymondham had two or three very powerful players, who when called upon by there captain changed the whole game.Beccles found it very difficult to halt these players when they were in full flow.And that really decided the match.

Panda would have loved it here today,we needed that extra push at the right time.But saying that I thought Beccles played really well for the first 10-15 minutes Beccles controlled the match,Pux scoring a penalty in front of the posts after 5 mins,then Matt scoring after 15 in the corner,Beccles went into a 8 point lead.With game going into a sort of neutral gear where neither team really dominated,Wymondham suddenly changed gear and scored a try with a powerful charge I spoke about early.At the half time stage the game stood at 8 points to 7 in Beccles favour.

The pack seemed to hold its own today and even push the Wymondham pack,the second-row came into some good praise from the large crowd. Beccles actually took advantage of some sloppy play by Wymondham and went on to increase there lead through some great inter-linking passes,Beccles moved into a 14-7 lead after a try (by i don`t know who)and conversion by Puxley,the conversion looked like it was going wide then drifted back in much to the relief of the crowd on the far side.Beccles some how went into a 24-11 lead from what I remember,then Beccles got hit by a three try barrage half way through the second half.The team didn`t do the tackling bit very well and this showed on the face of vice-captain John Payne who had some choice words for his team.

Beccles then stood steadfast and tried to get back into the match,play wise and possession wise they did,but not score wise.Beccles had a few good chances of pulling off a victory but to no avail.

At the end of the day Wymondham had the cards to lay on the deck and it showed.But saying that Beccles did themselves really proud.
