Beccles were in control of the game at half time but their performance dropped off and they were beaten by 18-14. Beccles 32 – Billericay 15 Beccles had a convincing first league win of the season when they beat Billericay at Beef Meadow on Saturday. They raced in to an unassailable first half lead before winning by 32-15. Crusaders 10 - Beccles 17 Beccles had a morale boosting win over local rivals Crusaders in a friendly on Saturday. Beccles were leading 6-3 with three minutes to go but the opposition scored two penalties to make the final score 9-6. Old Fullerians 23 - Beccles 21 (aet) Beccles went out of the EDF Energy Senior Cup in a thrilling game away in Watford against Fullerians. The game went to extra time and Beccles twice had a kick to win the game before going down by 23-21. Read more ... Beccles II 19 Thetford II 32 The second fifteen were in action on Saturday and they had the whole Hewitt family playing in the pack. Lee ‘Taz’ Hewitt, who was a regular in the first team for a number of years, came out of retirement to play with his two sons. His two boys, Gavin and Jason, are now coming in to senior rugby with Gavin having already had first team experience. After another fine season Beccles are looking to recruit a new coach to take them on to the next level. Beccles are currently playing in London Division 4 North East and after two seasons of their highestever finishes in mid table the club are looking to move on towards the top of the league and promotion. If you feel you have the coaching skills and rugby knowledge to take us on to the next level please get in touch. You can contact Graham Hinsley (07899966008) or Nick Beese (01502 710967). We are also looking for new players. We are looking for players to improve our first team and also to boost our numbers in the second team. So, whatever your ability please get in touch on the above numbers.
